So, the party I mentioned earlier was a HUGE success. Here are some pictures of the event.
Grace is 18 months old, and I am still breastfeeding her. I want to stop, but its SO hard. She sleeps in her bed next to ours, so she will just crawl up and eat during the night. Its so frustrating cause I don’t wake up (I know, I am a horrible mom!!!) I don’t really feed her much during the day, but I do at night. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop breastfeeding a co sleeper? (I totally don’t want to be a co sleeper, but it just kind of happened, and now we are trying, not very well, to get her to sleep in her own bed.)
The only way she will fall asleep at night is if I feed her. Its SOOOO frustrating! Any help?!?
Anyway, I have to sub for the Relief Society next week. I get to be the teacher. Yay?!? :D I am nervous because I am definitely the youngest person in the Relief Society, and I am teaching them?!? I feel horribly inadequate. The topic is ‘The Organization and Destiny of the True and Living Church” (Chapter 11 in the Joseph Smith manual…) If anyone has any good ideas for the lesson, I would LOVE to hear them! I love to do interactive things. I don’t like to just read out of the manual. I get bored super easily when people do that, so I figure other people probably do too. :D
Lets see, what else? Oh! Blake works all the time. He loves his job, but I don’t love the fact that he has to work on Sunday. There was a lady who asked my grandma at church yesterday if I was divorced cause she has never seen Blake. I was so sad about that. Blake is going to try harder to get off on Sundays because of that comment. I guess that something good came from such a negative thing. Oh, last week we went up to Idaho to see my little big brother graduate from High School. It was such a great day. Grace got to see her grandparents, even if it was for just a bit. We had a HORRIBLE time at dinner though, the waitress was horrible and the food was all messed up. It was great fun.

Glad to have you back in the blogging world. I check your blog all the time now. Your little girl is adorable! It looks like that party was a blast. So has your agent found you any modeling jobs? Sorry I don't have any help for you in the breastfeeding area as all my kids are adopted. :) Did your brother graduate from Bonneville? Just curious. My husband graduated from Bonneville. (That was eons ago and before Hillcrest. His young siblings graduated from Hillcrest.)
Lucky you to teach Relief Society. I love teaching. However, it is always hard to present the material in a different way and a way to try to keep all their attention. If I come up with any ideas I will let you know.
Prob the best thing you can do to get your little one to stop sleeping with you is to put her in her own bed in her own room. This is just like putting a baby in her own crib in her own bed. Check out books, such as "What to expect the first year" for tips on how to transition your kid to her own room. This will help her not only sleep by herself so you and your husband can have time together, but it will also keep her from nursing in the middle of the night while your sleeping because if she's in her own bed she cant just crawl up into yours. You may have to shut your bed room door. You could also get some info on weaning your baby! Check out some books from the library!
I would have to agree with the above comment. You just have to put her in her crib and make her sleep in her own room, the sooner the better! She will probably scream and cry but it will gradually get better once she realizes that you are not giving in- be strong! As far as weaning on breastfeeding, I never had to worry about that because my milk dried up around 6-9 months so they weaned themselves- so if you can somehow get your milk to dry up it should be easy:)
