The Grocery trip from you know where...

Okay, so I decided to brave the grocery store, all by myself with two kids for the first time. Let me tell you... I will never do that again. (At least for a while!)

At the store was awesome. Grant slept the whole time and Grace was very well behaved. I got home, feeling very good about myself. Getting through Wal*Mart unscathed isn't heard of.

I parked in the parking lot of our apartment building, and got Grace and Grant out. I opened the back of our Durango and a 12 pack of oh so hard to find Caffeine Free Pepsi dropped out and exploded onto the ground.
With Pepsi shooting everywhere, I quickly found the 3 broken cans, let them empty out and put the dirty box of Pepsi onto the grass.
Alright, I thought, I can handle this. I made sure Grant was out of the sun, and Grace wasn't killing him... and unloaded 2 bags and 2 gallons of milk to take inside. I grabbed Grant and handed Grace a lighter bag to take inside. With Grants carseat in the crook of one arm, the grocery sack in the other, and two gallons of milk held in my arms, I marched our little parade onto the sidewalk.
Suddenly, I heard the clanking of cans rolling around. I looked back and Grace was dragging the sack, causing a nice hole, and the cream of chicken soup was rolling into the street. Yay. I set down what I had and went running out to grab the cans out from the middle of the road.
I added the cans to my already heavy sack and we continued our parade inside. As we made our way toward the house, my arms and chest were feeling very wet. I looked down, and one of the milk jugs had exploded into my arms.
We hurried inside and I threw away the milk and changed my clothes. I made sure Grace was watching Spongebob and Grant was still sleeping in his car seat and ran back out to grab the last few sacks.
I grabbed them and hurried around the corner (just to make sure Grace wasn't killing Grant) and hit the sack onto the side of our building. I didn't think much of it until I got inside and looked in the bags. I had completely smooshed our bread and broken half of the eggs from the run in with the wall.

And... to top it all off, I realized I didn't use my coupons that I had for the purchases...
Needless to say, I so am not going shopping by myself again anytime soon.

I totally feel for you. I think it took me a couple of months to get the hang of taking two shopping by myself. And several months to survive a trip with three. ((hugs))

Oh the memories of the past...lol. I am with you other friends, laughing with not at you. I used to babysit for others and had my own, needless to say this type of thing was common. Adding to the fact that tantrums run rampant at times too. I am here to say, as you may already know, "this too shall pass." In other words sweetie, It only lasts a little while, then you get your teens to unload everything while you go to the bathroom as soon as you get home. Lov eyou and good luck on the next run.
