My not so smart idea

So, at a garage sale about a month ago, we picked up an awesome 3D puzzle of the World. I had ALWAYS wanted to do one, and it was a quarter and still in the cellophane wrap. Well, yesterday I decided that it would be a great time to try to put this puzzle together. This was my 1st mistake. Well, it goes by numbers, (there are 520 pieces) and I decided that I wanted to do it the regular way, and not by numbers. That was my 2nd mistake. That idea lasted about, oh, 2 minutes. It is pretty much impossible that way. Well, I started doing it by the numbers and it was going great. I got about halfway and decided to glue it so it would keep its shape. That was my 3rd mistake. It is now a very lopsided globe because of that idea. Well, my 4th mistake was letting Grace see what I was doing. Her, being the little grown up, HAD to help. So, I let her. I couldn't let her scream on the floor. I figured that she would be an okay helper. She was. For a little while. She lost a couple of pieces on the floor, so I coaxed Blake to take her. I found the pieces and continued on. I got to the last piece and that one is pretty much impossible to put in. I got it put together and started to glue the rest and one of the middle pieces fell in. (Did I ever say this was a bad idea?) Well, I got the piece out of the middle and tried to put it back in. HA! That was my 12th mistake. (A couple of the other mistakes definitely count for at least two or three)... the whole middle caved in. I fixed it back to just the one piece missing. Then, I glued the rest of it and then after it dried shoved that middle piece in. It is definitely not round, and it definitely isn't smooth, but I finished it! I would not recommend trying to put together one of these puzzles!!! :)

At least you have the determination to stick with it - I would have given up at mistake 3 and probably tossed it across the room and thrown it away from frustration.

From the picture it doesn't look bad at all so Congratulations on finishing the puzzle!

Wow, that's amazing that you finished it! I really want to come to the bloggers party, but I don't think I can make it. SInce I babysit I won't be able to leave early enough to get there by 7, plus I'm already driving to Ogden 1-3 times a week and with gas prices, well... It sounds so fun though. I wish I could be there.
